Meet Emily LCMHC, LCAS, CSI
Therapist in North Carolina, SC, VT, and FL
Hi, I’m Emily. I am a neurodivergent therapist who loves supporting people move past barriers and find their strengths through creativity and connection.
Welcome. You have taken a big step by arriving at this page. Life can be difficult and overwhelming. Sometimes we need some help in navigating its challenges.
Let’s be real here-therapy IS work. Through the work I empower clients to unlock the doors to their resilience that may seem closed.
In our work together we will explore many of the things that may be holding you or your family back. Some of these barriers may include anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment, identity issues, or a general feeling of being stuck.
I use an empowering and creative approach to connect and support clients in discussing their needs. Sometimes the things we struggle with can be hard to talk about. Incorporating expressive arts techniques to supplement traditional client-centered talk therapy can help ease the way.
I have found that using creative approaches can be especially helpful with young children with big feelings, teens unsure about the talk therapy process, and those working through trauma that can be difficult to discuss through words. I often use creativity, collaboration, and expression in my work. This may look like an expressive art drawing process, a guided visual journaling activity, a narrative prompt, or a Sandtray therapy session. We can find other ways of expression outside of the verbal spectrum
The waters may be rough, but you are capable of traversing through the storms. You may not control the wind, but you can adjust your sails.
